Radiology Tasmania Clinic Evacuated after Building Works Incident
Earlier today, building works caused a carbon monoxide leak to affect Radiology Tasmania’s Glenorchy clinic.
The incident occurred at the adjacent building site where expansion works are being conducted to expand the Radiology Tasmania clinic.
Radiology Tasmania’s clinic was evacuated, emergency services were called to the scene, and two individuals working on the adjacent building site were taken to the hospital after exhibiting symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure.
“A small number of our team members were also mildly affected and are receiving medical care. We are relieved to report that everyone is now safe, and authorities have declared the site safe for ongoing operations,” said Dr. Ian Kadish, CEO and Managing Director of Integral Diagnostics.
“As a healthcare company, the health and safety of our staff, patients, visitors, and workers is our top priority, and remains as such. We are collaborating with the building contractors, who are thoroughly investigating the incident in collaboration with WorkSafe, to establish the cause of this unexpected outcome and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” said Dr. Kadish.
