Fees & Billing
What is the estimated cost of my procedure?
In the majority of cases, we bulk bill to Medicare. However, please verify billing for your procedure with the clinic at which you have an appointment.
There are certain exceptions to the bulk billing practice, particularly in instances where Medicare coverage does not apply, or when it does not cover the full amount associated with conducting the examination. Additionally, it's important to note that when specialised radiologists perform interventional procedures, there may be additional charges.
For comprehensive details and specific information regarding billing procedures, we recommend reaching out to your local Radiology Tasmania clinic. Our dedicated staff will be happy to assist you with anyenquiries you may have, offering the necessary guidance to ensure a clear understanding of the financial aspects related to your medical services.
What does Medicare cover?
We’re committed to ensuring that our services are accessible and affordable, that’s why we bulk bill to Medicare in most cases.
While we strive to bulk bill for most services, there are exceptions requiring special consideration. For example, certain MRI services, or obstetric ultrasounds, may require patients to pay a gap between the Medicare reimbursement and the procedure cost.
It's essential to note that specialised services, particularly interventional procedures performed by a specialist radiologist, may incur additional charges.
Understanding that billing practices can have local variations, we encourage you to reach out to your local Radiology Tasmania clinic for specific and detailed information regarding billing for the services you require. Our dedicated team is readily available to provide comprehensive guidance and address any questions or concerns you may have about the financial aspects of your medical care. Your well-being is our priority, and we are here to assist you in navigating the financial aspects of your healthcare journey.
